Charlene MacPherson: Being healthy is fun!

What first brought me to LiteFit was that I had started my journey of weight loss with my nutrition and it was time to add a regular workout routine.  I’ve tried regular gym memberships before but there is no accountability when you go to exercise by yourself plus I wanted to not just lose weight but to be as strong or stronger than what I was when I played soccer and lacrosse full time.

Of course with starting something totally new I was a little nervous about the setting and the intensity.  However, the first time I actually went the atmosphere was nothing but welcoming and supportive.  The friendly and supportive atmosphere soon became one of the major reasons I wanted to come to work out as much a possible.

The first goal I hit was to lose 15 lb within 2 months.  I actually reached that goal within one month!!

I have 15 more pounds to go to my goal weight. I also want to keep working on my squats to make them stronger especially the front squats.

The difference both mentally and physically is extraordinary. Not only have I lost the weight but I feel 100% stronger and can do things like lift 50 lb dog food bags which I could never do before.  Mentally I am also so much more confident in myself and the decisions I make every day!

I think the thing that has changed the most is my attitude towards myself.  Before I just believed I was meant to be unhealthy but now I know I can do it and that being healthy is actually way more fun!!

This is a hard one because there are so many!! Its more of a personal moment than an actual event, but when I finally understood that Wreck Room is not just a gym but a community of people who are all there to help support each other to reach their goals, whatever they may be.
